Frequently asked questions
What are letter reversals in b and d?
Letter reversals happen when a child writes or reads b as d (or p as q) because the letters are mirror images. It is very common in early readers and in kids with dyslexia, and it improves with focused, multisensory practice.
How does the bed trick work?
Write the word bed. The b makes the left headboard and the d makes the right headboard, so the word looks like a real bed. When a child is unsure, they picture the bed: b always points left, d always points right.
Who are these worksheets for?
They are great for kindergarten and first to third graders, English language learners, homeschoolers, and children with dyslexia or other learning differences who confuse b, d, p and q.
